We went to Vlissingen on the first day of the year – very cold and windy, but sunny day. Still lockdown times, which added to the restrictions, made almost impossible to have something to eat or drink.

First we get to Fort Ellewoutsdijk, which of course, was closed, so we couldn’t see much. Well, there on the shore, the wind was trying to blow us away, so we did’t hesitate for a long and kept moving ahead.

Next stop – Fort Rammekens. Closed as well, but with very nice footpaths around passing through the woods and fields.

Although quite cold and muddy, we spent hours walking around enjoying the freshness of the nature.

And we got hungry! At least myself. 😁 Yeah, that was a bit of problem in a lockdown period. Still we managed to find a takeaway fast food on the pier of Vlissingen and I happily took advantage of it! 😋

After we took care of my hunger, we had the rest of the afternoon to walk around. It’s a beautiful town, at least the part we saw.

And has really nice coastal alley with a great panoramic view, which was full of people even in that cold windy day!

We went back at dusk after a cold and windy, yet colourful and full of emotions day.
Maybe I would be back in a better weather to have more opportunity to explore it. Or maybe not – there are so many places to be discovered and explored in that world! 😉
